*aside* Why is blogger being such a colossal pain tonight??? I have so much to say and so little time to avoid packing!
*ahem*
Somewhere in this dark, dark yard, there is a bear. A good-sized bear. He was on our porch snarfing down cat food. Again. Yeah, a bear. On our porch. For the third time.
On our freaking front porch. Just a couple of feet from where we sleep.
This is why we keep the doors shut at night even when it's eleventy-four degrees and the humidity is stifling.
If you click on the photo and look at the large image, see if you can find the darker spot between the two trees on the right, at the top of the grass. That is the bear. You'll have to take my word for it.

A bear? Really? I probably would have moved out and let him have it all after the first time. :)
I love bears, but was halfway afraid that picture would be one of those things that you click on and stuff pops out at you...
Bears don't eat cats, just cat food, right...? Maybe move the cat food inside? Or run it up a tree, like you know, if the cats were camping...? And hide your tampons, because for some reason, bears are attracted to lady problems?!
So the deer eat the vegetation and the bears eat the cat food...might wanna think twice about donning a red cape if any wolves show up!
We tried taking the cat food in at night, but he kept on coming to check. Legally Tom can shoot him, but I'm hoping the bear will just stay off the porch!
No problems with tampons; menopause has visited me and hit me hard with its ugly stick.
We've had a fox, but so far, no wolf! And the cats get all huffy when the bear shows up. He leaves in a hurry.
Um, can I ask WHY you were standing on the back porch taking pictures instead of inside baricading the doors and windows?
Your SP12 Pal
Oops, I'm not your SP12 pal. But now I can't tell you who I really am. Sorry. My mouse clicker apparently works faster than my brain today. :-)
Because the bear was running away. If he'd still been out there, Tom would have gotten his gun.
But there was that time last summer when the bear was leisurely walking across the back yard toward the creek and I went out back with my camera to "shoot" him; he looked at me, I took pictures, and he ambled on off.
But Tom had the door open just in case I needed to run in.
And now I'm very curious about you, anonymous! I was kind of thinking, "um, I'm not in SP12" till I read your next comment!
