He's gone

Our sweet George Honey is gone. He's gone past pain and misery and is George again. I pray for his wife, my mom and dad, and my sisters.

I haven't been able to find the photo of him with Mia. It was so cute. I'll keep looking.

God speed, George, and may God grant you (and Dorothy) peace and rest.

Who is George and what happened?

George was our uncle, that once-in-a-lifetime uncle who was our world when we were kids. Now he's gone. God bless him.

He sounds like he was such a good and sweet person Rita. Will you be able to get away for the funeral?

He was the best, Deedee. We still haven't heard any funeral details, but I'll be there whenever it is. I'll probably go down Sunday; Tom's nephew is getting married Sat. afternoon.

Oh, Rita...I'm thinking of you and your family. You gave him a wonderful send off with your post from yesterday. He sounds like a wonderful man - the world would be a better place if there were more people like him in it.

I also had a favorite uncle who I miss very much. He and I used to have such fun together. He had 2 children who were much older than me but was estranged from them because of divorce. He was my father's closest brother (they were also under 2 years apart) and both were terrific, warm people.

I consider myself lucky to have had both in my life. It sounds like you and your sisters also had that sort of good fortune.

Make his funeral a celebration of all that was wonderful about him.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's always very sad to lose someone you really cared for. May his memory be a blessing.

May he rest in peace and may you only remember all the happy times when George was George.

Thank you, everyone. He was such a fun uncle! It was so sad to witness his personality disappear over the last couple of years especially.

It'll be a family reunion tonight. It's sad that funerals are when we get together, but at least we do have family then.
