Two time zones in one day

We left home at 6:30 this morning for a little trip.

We met my sister Joan and her husband and headed off to a show.

Two weeks Ten hours later, we arrived in Nashville. After marveling how much longer it stays light here, I got a sneaking suspicion that maybe we were no longer in the Eastern time zone.

After a little google search, we discovered that was correct. Oh well, it gave us an extra hour to get lost find The Station Inn.

Oddly, we took a wrong turn and found the place immediately. (This never happens. Ever. We always get lost.)

We drove for 10 hours so we could attend the cd release show for Eric Brace and Peter Cooper's "You Don't Have to Like Them Both". Mom calls us "groupies". We call us "fun".

The show was excellent, as always, and we met Tom T. Hall. Last Train Home sings one of his songs ("I Flew Over Our House Last Night"), and Eric and Peter sang it tonight.

Tomorrow is the long long drive home, but it was worth it.

10 hours of driving to see a band...that sounds "groupie-ish" to me :-) LOL

I'm so so happy you and the whole crew made the drive down. That means so much to me...
Next time, how about we drive to *you*??? Well, Ashland VA isn't exactly your back yard, but it's closer than Nashville! And we'll see you there Valentines Day!
Thank you all again sooooo much....
It was a great night (I got to meet Tom T. Hall too!!!), and i'm really glad you were part of it...

Joan said...I was so happy to be there, too! Mom once said, "My daughters, the groupies," and I told her "Yeah, but we're NICE groupies..." And fun. Man, I'm tired. But happy.

You think we sound like groupies? Maybe.... but it wasn't JUST a band, it was our two favorite singers!

Actually, I miscounted; it wasn't ten hours; it was eleven. My tail bone hurts.

Eric, it was our pleasure to be there and share the launch of your cd. It's got some great songs, and it's a treat to have a cd by two great guys. So when is the next one out?.....

Looking forward to seeing you both again in Ashland. Since Mom and Dad live only half an hour from there, and it's only 3 hours from home, it's a much easier drive.

But I'd do the road trip to Nashville again in a heartbeat! How about you, Joan?
