This just in

Wow. It pays to leave things lying around instead of taking them home.

Last month the art department here had a faculty/staff art show. I submitted a few felted bowls that I'd made, and when I picked them up, I stuck them on my desk instead of going to the trouble of carrying them home. Today a woman stopped in to talk and saw the bowls and bought one. With actual money.

Okay, it was a check, but I can probably turn it into real money.

I love knitting the bowls. One evening's work does it. And I have SUCH a stash of wool. I have it in those big rubber totes, one for lights, one for neutrals, one for darks. Oh the possibilities....

Great bowl and congrats on the sale. It feels so nice to make money doing something you love! thanks for the supportive comment about my yarn stash on my blog!

A friend of mine said, "She who dies with the most, wins." A stash is a security thing for me. When I sewed, I had a room full of fabric and patterns. Now I have tub after tub of yarn, actually sorted into acrylics, wools (neutrals, darks, colors), blends, sock yarn, cotton, luxury yarns (small box!), and fuzzy and non-fuzzy novelties.

It's the only part of my life that is actually organized.

You know, I still haven't cashed that check. I need to squirrel the money away for more yarn and patterns.
