Richmond Shooting Latest
Reporter: Kelly Creswell
Gary Post was shot and killed last week at the Legacy Inn in Richmond after he and his two sons were on their way to a wedding in Texas.
Police say four men came into the room with guns and demanded money, and one man shot Post in the chest. As the Henrico County Police Department continues to investigate the shooting, many questions still remain unanswered.
As to who shot Mr. Post and why the family was targeted, a police officer says the department is continuing to search for the suspects who shot Mr. Post, but they have very few leads to work off of and they need more help from the public. Police say that Mr. Post and his two sons may have been the easy target because they were just moving their belongings into the room. But police also say it's not unusual to respond to calls from this hotel, and they have on several occasions.
Despite not having much of a description of the four suspects, police say they will continue working to help get some closure for the Post family.
"This is something that we don't draw a line in the sand and say we'll we're going to stop working on it, we never do that," says Captain Pete MacRae of the Henrico Police Department. "So we'll be working on this very heavily for a long time to come until such a time it gets resolved."
Police say they have been working with the Post family as this case continues. Services for Mr. Post will be held this Thursday.
